Delete your account

You can delete your CoHiro account from inside the app, without asking anyone.

In the app

  1. Open CoHiro and go to the Account tab.
  2. Choose Delete account.
  3. Confirm that it is you.

How you confirm depends on how you signed up. With an email address and password, you enter your password. If you signed up with Apple or Google, you confirm with that same provider instead, because no password exists on the account. Confirmation is asked for because deletion cannot be undone.

If you cannot get into the app

If you have lost access and cannot sign in, email support@cohiro.app from the address on the account and ask for it to be deleted. We will confirm before anything is removed.

What is deleted

Your account and the personal data attached to it: your email address, your display name, your notification settings, and the record of the devices you were signed in on.

What is not deleted, and why

CoHiro is a shared app. The things you added to a household are used by the other people in it, so deleting your account does not delete the household's shopping list or its inventory. What changes is that those entries stop being attributed to you: they remain, but no longer carry your name.

If you were the only member of a household, that household and its contents are deleted with your account.
