The terms for using the CoHiro app. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

1. About CoHiro and these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and Niugio UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Urbanstraße 71, 10967 Berlin, Germany, for using CoHiro, a shared shopping list and household inventory. You accept them by creating an account or by using CoHiro. The privacy policy is an information notice, not part of this contract. CoHiro is free to use today; if we introduce paid features, they will be optional and clearly marked.

2. Your account and households

You need an email address, and you must be at least 16. One account is one person: what happens through your account carries your display name, and your household will read it as you. Keep your sign-in to yourself.

Households are shared. Every member can add, change, mark, or delete shared items and lists, including things you added, and whoever runs a household can remove members. So choose who you share one with: we cannot referee household disagreements, and we do not moderate what happens inside one. An invite code lets whoever holds it join, so share it with care; it expires on its own and can be revoked.

3. Your content

What you put into CoHiro stays yours. You give us just enough licence to run the service: storing and syncing your content, showing it to your household, and quoting it in the notifications you and they asked for. Nothing more. For content that remains in a shared household after you leave or delete your account, this licence continues only for as long as needed to provide that content to the remaining members.

The app itself is ours: the code, design, artwork, and the CoHiro name. Your account is a personal right to use CoHiro, not a right to copy, resell, or re-license any part of it.

4. Acceptable use

Use CoHiro lawfully. Do not try to reach other people's data, probe or overload the service, or use invites or feedback to spam anyone. Breaking these rules can get an account suspended or closed (section 6).

5. Availability and changes

CoHiro is provided free of charge and without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability: maintenance and faults can interrupt it. If we ever shut CoHiro down, we will give you notice in the app first.

We may change or retire features where there is a valid reason, for example to improve security or reliability, to meet legal, app-store or technical requirements, to adapt to changes in operating systems or third-party services, or to replace or develop features where the change does not unreasonably disadvantage you. Changes do not create additional charges, and we will tell you about material changes in advance. Any mandatory rights you have remain unaffected.

We may update these terms where reasonably necessary because of changes in law or to reflect changes to CoHiro permitted under this section. If an update changes your contractual rights or obligations, we will show it to you before it takes effect and ask you to accept it; editorial or clarifying changes that do not affect your rights or obligations do not require acceptance.

6. Ending your use and account deletion

You can stop at any time: delete your account in the app under Account, no need to ask us. What deletion removes, and what stays with a shared household, is described in the privacy policy. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law; where reasonable, we will tell you why.

7. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, and for damage from injury to life, body or health. For slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations, our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract; essential contractual obligations are those whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of this contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely. Beyond that, liability for slight negligence is excluded. Mandatory statutory liability, in particular under the Product Liability Act, remains unaffected.

8. Applicable law and consumer rights

German law applies. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law that would apply in the country of your habitual residence without this choice.
